Photography is an artform...

The photo above is a powerful example of the art of photography.
The shot is taken from a test shoot where we were exploring a range of emotions. The aim was to create an image that describes and delivers an emotion eloquently but silently.
A commercial photographer exploits the art of using images charged with emotion to tell a story about your brand or product to potential customers.

The 2 images below are everyday examples of that creativity at work. In the 1st photo, you can easily imagine that you are sitting across the table from your friend. She's telling you a story; a little bit of gossip. And after that sip of coffee, there is a promise of more...
It's obviously a Conversation Coffee described exactly!
The image on the right? Well that's a different story. Voga Italia is a very unusual Italian wine, and the marketing is everything a wine usually isn't!
What does the image say to you?

...and now just imagine how we could describe your brand or product!

It's about creating a visual story...

All 3 of the images above are very different frozen moments in time. Each tells its' own story.
Taking photos is easy. But planning and creating an image that tells a specific story...now that's a challenge!   It's what a commercial photographer does for a living. We create images to tell the stories we are given.
If you need a bit of inspiration for a visual story of your business, read on...
But if you have a concept in mind, take a look at how the photo-shoot works and what you get for your money.

OK, let's inspire you a little

You will see that we often use a professional model in our work. It's the facial expressions and body language of a skilled model that really tells the story. And make no mistake, Photographic Modelling is a highly skilled profession.
We are very fortunate to have Khanyishe as part of our team. She brings together the ability to look beautiful, to act and to tell a story with a single glance. Khanyishe knows how to work with a photographer to create that exact moment, that moment that captures and delivers the whole story.
When you are putting together your photo concept, it's important to understand exactly what you want the photo to say. We call it "Silent Narration". If the cameraman and model know what must be created, exactly, they will combine their skills to put together the single shot that tells the whole story.
Take a browse through the two portfolios here. You'll see, in the marketing shots, how focusing on Khanyishe brings another dimension to each photo.

But it's just a simple photo...isn't it?

Yes it's true, all we do is take photos - BUT - even something as straight forward as taking a photo of some food isn't as simple as it looks.
Remember, it's our job to create images that sell your products. If we were to promote a new dish in your restaurant for example, we must think about how we present the dish. How do we light the dish? Should we set it against a back-drop? Should we create a close-up? Should we contextualise the image with depth of field? (that's the photo below right). These are just some of the questions we must consider for a simple food shot.
We hope that, by now, you have understood the difference between the accidentally good cell-phone shot and the planned quality of the professional shot. If you are serious about your marketing, then you need professional people to make professional photos. Photos like these...
