Music videos blazed the trail to the TV station...

It was our work with local celebrity Fanie de Jager that led us to get "on-boarded" with M-Net. We had been doing small audio jobs for him for a quite a while when he asked about making a music video for him. The video was to be "the Lord's Prayer". Though an unusual choice for a music video, we took on the challenge and created our 1st music video. We presented it to M-net, went through the selection processes and eventually, the video was accepted for air-time on the KykNou program. Suddenly we were on TV! Since then we've made 7 more for Fanie, 6 of them given TV air-time.

Being "on-boarded" gives us direct access to the approval panel list. In other words, our videos are automatically sent for approval, missing out the initial selection stages. While being predominantly Afrikaans based, videos of other languages are often accepted, as you will see below.
The latest Fanie de Jager project began in October 2020. It was a 5 video marathon, taking a selection of songs from his career and turning them into a series. Take a look...

Fanie de Jager is an opera and contemporary classic singer who has been performing professionally from a very early age. Over the years he's appeared on television and on some of South Africa's most prestigious stages.
For this song Fanie is joined by another celebrity singer, Michelle Veerneman. 'Amigos Para Siempre' translates to 'Friends forever'. It's a love song, but it's a very 'human' song. The celebrates the rarest of relationships, a love that lasts for ever.

Which translates to "Our Wedding Day". Fanie had been thinking of creating a music video series for some time. His idea was to celebrate life from different points of view.
In this video, the song celebrates the most important day in the life of every girl, her wedding day. So we put together a selection of clips and photos from actual weddings. Real people remembering a real day.
It's a day full of hope for the future. Today, we won't worry about what might be. Today, we'll just be happy for what is.

This song is the central idea around which the whole project revolves. 'Lied van die Lewe' translates to 'Song of Life'.
It's a stark reminder that life doesn't stand still, it moves on relentlessly. Those happy halcian days of youth end all too quickly. Suddenly, you're watching your own children growing and struggling with life's problems. Suddenly, you're looking back, thinking about your own grand children, know that they will face those same problems.

This song is another reminder of how short life is. It's saying, don't waste it. Spread some joy where ever you go. Be happy.
There are people who are far worse off than you who rise above their problems. So don't waste time getting angry or frustrated. Stop trying to get even. Stop, take a breath, then spread a little happiness to everyone around you. Smile, and you feel better already.
Life and love aren't eternal. Make the best of what you've got, while you've still got it.

The final episode of the story is a reminder of what you can leave behind if you're not careful.
Mamma is the story of an Italian boy who leaves home to seek fame and fortune. When he is wealthy and successful, he realises that wealth is more than money. What he left behind is worth more than what he found.
So of-course he goes home. His wise old mother, not at-all surprised, prepares a simple meal to celebrate his home coming.

A song from Takura terry's debut album, Rare Stories.
The most haunting of the melodies from this album. The video tells the story of a girl visiting a coffee shop. The waiter is instantly in love. His imagination flies away to romantic scenes by the sea.
The girl on the other hand, is a little more than she seems. With a little magic she turns the bill into a rose and disappears.

Gallery photo 7 The Lord's Prayer
The music video that paved the way to M-net, and probably the most unlikely song to turn into a music video, but it turned out to be really successful.
We shot it at the beautiful small church in the middle of Caledon. The challenge was interpret the prayer as sincerely as it was sung.
